Poem: A SILENT PLEA

Killing Ourselves Slowly

{And do not kill yourselves; indeed, ALLÂH is to you ever Merciful.}

  1. As-Salamu Aliekum Rabab,

    Of all your writings I have read, to me, this one is the best. Let me tell you why.

    We have turned away from those we call our Muslim brothers and sisters of Islam. We have become intentionally oblivious to their pain and suffering. And as a result – you can say it’s poetic justice – we are becoming numb, unhappy, depressed, frustrated, and other unpleasantness, in our own lives. And your poem just makes me realise that.
