‘Indeed, there is in the body a bite-size [organ], if mended, the whole body will be healed, and if corrupt then the whole body will be ruined; indeed, it is the heart.’

‘None of you will believe until you love for your brother what you love for yourself.’

Consistent Commitment

‘The most beloved of deeds to ALLÂH ﷻ are those that are most consistent, even if small.’

Dedicated Deeds

‘Tie your camel and trust ALLÂH ﷻ.’

‘Truly in the heart there is a void that cannot be removed except with the company of ALLÂH ﷻ. And in it there is a sadness that cannot be removed except with the happiness of knowing ALLÂH ﷻ and being true to ALLÂH ﷻ. And in it there is an emptiness that cannot be filled except with love for ALLÂH ﷻ and by turning to ALLÂH ﷻ and always remembering ALLÂH ﷻ. And if a person was given the entire world and what is in it, it will not fill this emptiness.’

Earth Aromatics: {And it is HE who sends down rain from the sky and WE produce thereby the growth of all things. WE produce from it greenery [chlorophyll] from which WE produce grains arranged in layers. And from the palm trees clusters of emerging fruit [dates] hanging low. And [WE produce] gardens of grapevines and olives and pomegranates, similar yet varied. Look at [each of] its fruit when it yields and [at] its ripening. Indeed, in these are signs for a people who believe.}

From Prophetic Medicine by Imām Ibnu Qayyim Al-Jawziyyah رضي الله عنه

‘Preserving Health with Perfume . . . good scents and perfumes are remarkable nourishment for the soul . . . supports brain function, the heart and internal organs, and brings comfort to the heart and soul. Perfumes are also the most suitable and favourable remedy and substance for the soul.’

From Prophetic Medicine by Imām Ibnu Qayyim Al-Jawziyyah رضي الله عنه

‘Moving about is one of the best methods to prevent substances [clogs caused by amassed substances] the chance to accumulate. Moving heats the organs and dissipates surplus substances stopping them from accumulating with time. The body will also get used to feeling energetic and light through physical activity [practised after digestion] and would optimise the intake of food, firm up the joints and strengthen the muscles and ligaments. Moderate physical activity [which gives cheeks [a red] colour and nourishes the body] immunises the body against most ailments and mood changes, providing the activity is done at the right time and under proper circumstances.’

[O believers, let not a nation redicule [another] nation for they may be better than them; nor let women ridicule [other] women, for they may be better than them. And do not insult [defame] one another nor call each other by [offensive] nicknames [labels]. Wretched is the name [act] of disobedience after faith. And whoever does not repent, then they are the wrongdoers.]
